Broomfield authorities helped break ground on a new affordable housing complex in the Colorado city

On Tuesday, leaders from the City and County of Broomfield celebrated the groundbreaking of a new affordable housing complex in Colorado.

Named Harvest Hill, this property is located on Wadsworth Boulevard, near the Highway 36 exit. The new development aims to provide much-needed housing for renters in the area.

Affordable Housing for a Range of Incomes

The Harvest Hill complex will feature 152 units designed specifically for individuals and families earning between 30% and 70% of the area’s median income.

The goal is to create an affordable housing option for a wide range of residents, from seniors looking to downsize to young families just starting out.

Located just a quarter of a mile from RTD’s Broomfield Station, the complex will offer easy access to public transportation, which is an added convenience for future residents.

Support from Local Leaders

Broomfield Mayor Guyleen Castriotta emphasized the importance of the project in helping to meet the community’s growing demand for affordable housing. “It means that a lot of folks … want to call Broomfield home, whether it’s seniors that want to downsize, or young families just starting out,” said Mayor Castriotta.

“We want to build more inventory of units for every income level, and this project really helps us achieve this goal.”

A Collaborative Effort

The funding for Harvest Hill came through multiple partnerships, showing a strong commitment from various sectors to address the city’s housing needs. City leaders are optimistic that the project will be ready for residents to move in by next year.

Harvest Hill marks an important step forward in Broomfield’s efforts to provide affordable housing to residents at various income levels. With a target move-in date set for next year, the new complex will offer an accessible and convenient living option for many families in the area.
