The Gordon Longhorns won against the Hamlin Pied Pipers 9-6 in Game Two of the UIL Baseball Class A State Semifinal. With this win, Gordon swept the series 2-0 and moved on to the state championship game.

Game Highlights: Early Lead and Strong Comeback

Gordon started the game well, scoring two runs in the first inning. But Hamlin quickly fought back with a five-run second inning. The rally was sparked by pitcher Isaiah Hutchings, who hit a two-RBI hit.

After that, Gordon took control, scoring six runs while holding Hamlin to just one more run. This strong finish helped the Longhorns secure the victory.

Hamlin’s Historic Season Ends with Pride

Although Hamlin lost, it was still a great year for the Pied Pipers. They finished the season with a 21-6 record and made it to the state semifinals for the first time since 2003.

Hamlin’s head coach, Lynn Turner, expressed pride in the team’s progress. He said, “You can’t get a better year than that. We finished where we wanted to, and I’m proud of them. This year was special because the whole school made the playoffs, and we kept focusing on one game at a time.”

The Gordon Longhorns will now compete in the state championship game after beating Hamlin. Meanwhile, Hamlin’s baseball team celebrated a historic and successful season. Congratulations to the Pied Pipers for their hard work and dedication!
