HS SOFTBALL: Coahoma’s Wells selected District 3-A MVP

Coahoma’s softball team has once again proven their excellence on the field, with several standout players earning recognition on the recently announced All-District 3-3A Softball Team. Among the notable honorees, senior pitcher/shortstop Hannah Wells was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP), adding another prestigious award to her already impressive resume. This is just one of many honors for the Bulldogettes, who had multiple players receiving top accolades.

Coahoma Players Shine with Superlative Honors

Along with Wells’ MVP recognition, Coahoma had three other superlative honors on the team. Junior outfielder Addi Hart was named Defensive MVP, while senior Avery Rodriguez earned Pitcher of the Year honors. Additionally, junior Mia Clemmer was named Catcher of the Year, highlighting the team’s dominance in key positions across the board.

Wells, a Texas signee, also received recognition as the MVP of the state championship game, further solidifying her exceptional performance throughout the season. In total, Coahoma had four representatives on the first team, which included junior first baseman Bree Lewis, senior shortstop Nevaeh Kerby, senior outfielder Baylor Wright, and senior outfielder Kaedyn Lee.

Stanton and Lamesa Also Represented

The Stanton Buffaloes and Lamesa Golden Tornadoes were also well represented on the All-District 3-3A team. Stanton sophomore infielder/pitcher Lily Rodgers was awarded Newcomer of the Year honors. On the first team, Stanton had senior utility players Abby Campos and Aubrey Villa, along with junior infielder Peyton Little. Lamesa saw standout players, including senior outfielder Zoey Sifuentes, who was named Offensive MVP, and several others earning spots on the first and second teams.

UIL State Tournament Honors

In addition to the All-District honors, earlier this week, the UIL announced that Wells, Clemmer, freshman second baseman Blakely Rodgers, Kerby, Hart, and Wright were selected for the UIL Class 3A Division II state tournament teams. This recognition further exemplifies the success and talent within the Coahoma Bulldogettes’ softball program.
